I grew up loving Star Wars and especially The Empire Strikes Back. I decided to try my hand at a poster, almost as a vacation poster highlighting one of the landscapes. Trying to give it a practical feel, I painted alll of the brushstrokes with pen and ink. I then scanned them into the computer as separate sections, then colorized and layered them in Photoshop. Probably not a technique I'll ever use again as it was more trouble than it was worth.

Test concepts I created back in '05. Thought it would be cool if the Apes were depicted as Japanese Snow Monkeys. Both Apes are wearing armor and white war paint.
