WORK        MOTION       ILLUSTRATION         ART         LOGOS         INFORMATION

Jorge Almeida spent 14 years working in the film industry as a user interface designer and animator. He has been credited as lead interface designer on such films as Minority Report, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and Star Trek Into Darkness.

He has also done some illustration work, with his drawings being featured in the end-title sequence for the film Sherlock Holmes.

Seeking relief from long hours and industry burnout, he moved to Seattle in 2014 and spent 3 years at Microsoft as an interface designer and animator. He then took some time off to rehabilitate his back, neck and shoulder, and has since returned to freelance work as a designer and motion artist.

In his free time he loves to draw. He trained for several years at Watts Atelier near San Diego, and taught there briefly before moving back to Los Angeles. In 2017, he taught a weekend head drawing workshop at Studio Paradiso in Seattle, and his drawings were featured in a one-man show in 2016.
