Live Video Projection
Award-winning composer and musician Nitin Sawhney joinsed forces with celebrated author Samantha Harvey for a powerful new commission, premiered by Fantasia Orchestra. Inspired by Harvey’s Booker Prize-winning novel Orbital, a remarkable, lyrical meditation on life aboard a space station, this new work featuresd six new poems by Harvey, accompanied by six new pieces of music and a special new cantata composed by Sawhney, taking inspiration from Orbital.Combining NASA imagery with AI video generators, I created and edited the 16 minute animation that was projected above the orchestra during the live performance at the Sohmen Concert Hall, Schwarzman Centre, Oxford on November 6th and 7th, 2026.
